Context:
Since 2021, the situation in Côte d'Ivoire has been politically and economically stable since the last legislative elections. A total contribution from the various players to guarantee national reconciliation at the end of a political dialogue between the government and civil society. Next October, CI will hold municipal and regional elections. Last December, the Senate adopted two draft laws which focus on amending press and audiovisual communication legislation to eliminate the possibility of publishing false information, and to ensure that people active on the Internet are subject to regulation by the competent authorities. With regard to the repression of civic space, in April in Bouaké, demonstrators were injured following the use of tear gas to disperse them, students were arrested just for demanding better study conditions, and other arrests were recorded.
