Niger: The plight of a journalist!
Public statement  Posté le 13:56 06-10-2023, modifié le 13:56 06-10-2023 par Tournons La Page

The national coordination of Tournons La Page Niger was completely dismayed to learn of the abduction of journalist Samira Sabou on Saturday September 30 by as yet unidentified individuals.

This unprecedented situation is of great concern to the national coordination, which believes that the context should in no way justify medieval practices.

So, if the military authorities have anything to reproach her for, the ideal thing would be to notify her family and her counsel, who, incidentally, are only looking for news of one of their own.

What's more, the silence observed here and there by the various police departments regarding Samira Sabou's situation remains troubling.

In view of the above, TLP-Niger :

  1. Expresses its solidarity with journalist Samira Sabou in her ordeal;
  2. Energetically condemns the silence of the military authorities regarding the situation of journalist Samira Sabou;
  3. Demands that the Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie (CNSP) clarify the troubling situation in which the journalist is languishing;
  4. Invites the Conseil National pour la Sauvegarde de la Patrie (CNSP) to take all necessary steps to ensure that Samira Sabou returns to her family as soon as possible.
