Ibrahima Diallo, still a prisoner of Guinea's ruling military!
Communiqué  Posté le 12:43 01-06-2023, modifié le 12:43 01-06-2023 par Tournons la Page

Ibrahima Diallo was supposed to participate in the international forum on civic space in Niamey from June 2 to 4, but he was prevented from boarding at Conakry airport by Guinean police forces.

Recently released after spending 10 months in prison without trial, Ibrahima Diallo, coordinator of Tournons La Page Guinea and head of FNDC operations, was once again deprived of his freedom of movement, prevented on June 1, 2023 from boarding a plane to the Nigerien capital, where he is expected to lead a panel on the state of civic space in West Africa and the Sahel. However, Ibrahima Diallo has not been banned from leaving the country by a court order.

Since taking power in a coup d'état against President Alpha Condé in September 2021, the National Committee of Reconciliation and Development (NCRD) seems to be repeating the failings of the dictator it has overthrown.

Tournons La Page Niger, organizer of the forum, deplores this state of affairs, which demonstrates the importance of this meeting in the face of the increasing decline of the civic space in West Africa and the Sahel.
