It is with surprise and dismay that the National Coordination of Tournons La Page Niger has followed the events of Wednesday, July 26, 2023, which led to a forcible seizure of power in Niger, calling into question the institutions of the Republic.
The National Coordination of TLP-Niger, deeply attached to democratic and republican values, remains convinced that this approach has not been and never will be the solution for the emergence and development of our country.
In view of the above, TLP-Niger :
- Condemns in the strongest possible terms this unconstitutional seizure of power;
- Calls on the National Council for the Safeguard of the Country (CNSP) to respect the human rights and collective and individual freedoms of all citizens;
- Calls on the entire population of Niger to rise up patriotically to avoid any spirit of revenge or settling of scores, in order to manage this umpteenth crisis peacefully;
- And finally, warns certain rogue and ill-intentioned partners against any interference in Niger's internal affairs.
